If you feel Super Speech Pathology is the right fit for your child, we encourage you to complete our enquiry form.
This form gives us information on your child’s primary communication needs and your contact details.
After completing our enquiry form, we also suggest you email through any previous reports associated with your child’s development for the Speech Pathologist to review. You can find our email in the footer of our website or at the end of the enquiry form.
-
After completing the enquiry form and prior to your child’s first session, you will be asked to complete an intake meeting with the Speech Pathologist.
This meeting is important for:
- Gathering clear case history information on your child.
- Ensuring the Speech Pathologist learns your child’s preferences and interests before their first meeting.
- Providing you the opportunity to ask any questions about your child’s communication development.
- Ensuring Super Speech Pathology is the right fit for you. Occasionally, we might refer you to a better-suited service depending on the goals you identify.
-
This is when your child will meet the Speech Pathologist. During this session, the Speech Pathologist will complete a clinical observation of your child by engaging them in various tasks.
At the conclusion of the initial consultation, the Speech Pathologist will provide you with a verbal summary of what they have observed and their recommendations.
The Speech Pathologist may need more sessions to complete screeners and / or formal assessments with your child before they begin therapy sessions.
The Speech Pathologist may also request to obtain further information from your child’s teacher with your consent.
-
Depending on your child’s initial consultation / assessment results, the Speech Pathologist may recommend ongoing therapy.
Therapy blocks typically run on a term basis (e.g. 10-12 sessions).
Speech Pathology goals are reviewed and updated following each block of therapy. This usually occurs in the school holidays.
The frequency of sessions can be discussed depending on your child’s needs, however fortnightly or weekly sessions are typically recommended.
The location of therapy will also be discussed. The options include school, kindergarten, home, or via telehealth.
